ABOUT DAVE

My Jump Rope Song

last of four - suburban town
skinny eager classroom clown
underachiever sharp as a pin
these days I’d have Ritalin

cigarettes, liquor, vandalism
bookworm werewolf teenage schism
menial jobs at minimum wage
saved by putting words on a page

DM was born outside of Boston during the last summer of the 50's.  At the age of seventeen he found himself playing guitar in a rock band in the Worst Bar on the Planet (the Laconia Lounge in Lowell MA - look it up) and discovered that he had a strange affection for both rock & roll and bars.

Flash forward - at age forty he became a college freshman at the New School University in NYC studying writing with David Hajdu, Matthew Roher and Sharon Mesmer.

Now he lives on the coast of Maine with his wife Susan and writes poems.

Life is good.
